Brooke Hart

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF COMMUNICATIONS

Brooke Hart is executive vice president of communications for HII, America’s largest military shipbuilding company and a provider of professional services to partners in government and industry.

Serving in this role since 2021, Hart is responsible for driving the global narrative around HII’s portfolio of products and services. She leads all external and internal communications activities for HII, developing and executing communications strategies across an array of media and channels. As a member of HII’s senior leadership team, Hart directs media relations, employee engagement, marketing communications, and community investment activities to express the value of HII’s platforms, technologies and services, and HII’s lived-out corporate values, to customers, other external stakeholders, and employees.

Prior to joining HII, Hart spent more than 20 years leading communications teams and leveraging compelling human storytelling to grow awareness, engagement, and outcomes. Most recently Hart served for six years as vice president of communications and brand at aerospace and defense contractor Sierra Nevada Corporation where she established the company’s communications team and function, and grew its brand recognition among national security customers, decision-makers and publicly.

Earlier in her career, Hart was a local and then national television news reporter, serving for more than a decade as a Washington, DC-based national correspondent for NBC News. Hart wrote and delivered on-air reporting nationwide, including live coverage of presidential campaigns, elections and inaugurations, Sept. 11, 2001 attacks and national security aftermath, major weather events, financial news and breaking stories of the day. She went on to leadership roles at The Pew Charitable Trusts and in the technology and venture capital industries.

Hart earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University and a Master of Arts degree from Georgetown University.
